ALK is a 80 kDa receptor protein kinsase having a putative transmembrane domain and an extracellular domain. This protein is anaplastic lymphoma kinase is highly expressed in the neonatal brain. It is also expressed in the samll intestine, testis, and brain but not in normal lymphoid cell.
