tert-Butyl 3-iodopropylcarbamate is a compound with a t-butyl and a terminal iodine. The iodine (I) is a very good leaving group for nucleophilic substitution reactions. The Boc group can be deprotected under mild acidic conditions to form the free amine. Reagent grade, for research use only.
