PLLA(5k)-PEG(2k)-VS is a micelle-forming biodegradable polymer with vinylsulfone terminal. It is reactive with thiol molecule via thiol-ene reaction in the presence of catalyst or radical initiator. The polymer is amphiphilic due to the presence of hydrophobic poly(L-lactide) (PLLA) and hydrophilic PEG blocks. The micelles formation can be used as nanocarrier where the hydrophobic regions, shielded from water, serve as reservoirs for hydrophobic drugs. Reagent grade, for research purpose.
