Selective inhibitor of ATP-sensitive potassium channels. Plant alkaloid with a broad spectrum of biological effects including anti-cholinergic, hypoglycemic and antimalarial properties. K+ATP channel blockers such as quinine sulphate and tolazamide inhibit clearance of autophagy substrates.
