Unable to form K27 polyubiquitin chains and conjugates. Recombinant untagged protein
K27R ubiquitin, in which Lys27 has been mutated to arginine, is unable to form multi-ubiquitin chains via Lys27 linkages with other ubiquitin molecules, while preserving the ability to form an active thioester at the C-terminus and, therefore, the ability of K27R ubiquitin to be transferred to the lysines of substrate proteins.
