Ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolases (UCHs) are a family of deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs) that catalyse the hydrolysis of amides, esters and thioesters of the C-terminus of ubiquitin. UCHL3 can function as a C-terminal hydrolase for both NEDD8 and ubiquitin and may play a physiologically significant role in the cleavage of the C-terminus of NEDD8, which is required for NEDD8 to conjugate to target proteins.
Recombinant human UCHL3 protein expressed with a N-terminal His-tag. Exhibits deubiquitinating activity vs. ubiquitin-AMC (VB2906).
