背景资料: RAN (ras-related nuclear protein) is a small GTP bindingnprotein belonging to the RAS superfamily that is essential for thentranslocation of RNA and proteins through the nuclear pore complex.nThe RAN protein is also involved in control of DNA synthesis andncell cycle progression. Nuclear localization of RAN requires thenpresence of regulator of chromosome condensation 1 (RCC1).nMutations in RAN disrupt DNA synthesis. Because of its manynfunctions, it is likely that RAN interacts with several othernproteins. RAN regulates formation and organization of thenmicrotubule network independently of its role in thennucleus-cytosol exchange of macromolecules. RAN could be a keynsignaling molecule regulating microtubule polymerization duringnmitosis. RCC1 generates a high local concentration of RAN-GTPnaround chromatin which, in turn, induces the local nucleation ofnmicrotubules. RAN is an androgen receptor (AR) coactivator thatnbinds differentially with different lengths of polyglutamine withinnthe androgen receptor. Polyglutamine repeat expansion in the AR isnlinked to Kennedy's disease (X-linked spinal and bulbar muscularnatrophy). RAN coactivation of the AR diminishes with polyglutaminenexpansion within the AR, and this weak coactivation may lead tonpartial androgen insensitivity during the development of Kennedy'sndisease.

免疫原: This RAN antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 112-140 amino acids from the Central region of human RAN.

保存建议: Store at 4˚C for three months and -20˚C, stable for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
