- The protein encoded by this gene contains a RING-H2 fingernmotif. Deletions and mutations in this gene were detected innesophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), suggesting that thisnprotein may be a potential tumor suppressor. Studies of the mousencounterpart suggested a role of this protein in the transcriptionnregulation that controls germinal differentiation. Multiplenalternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same proteinnare observed.
