背景资料: This locus has a highly complex imprinted expressionnpattern. It gives rise to maternally, paternally, and biallelicallynexpressed transcripts that are derived from four alternativenpromoters and 5' exons. Some transcripts contains a differentiallynmethylated region (DMR) at their 5' exons, and this DMR is commonlynfound in imprinted genes and correlates with transcript expression.nAn antisense transcript is produced from an overlapping locus onnthe opposite strand. One of the transcripts produced from thisnlocus, and the antisense transcript, are paternally expressednnoncoding RNAs, and may regulate imprinting in this region. Innaddition, one of the transcripts contains a second overlapping ORF,nwhich encodes a structurally unrelated protein - Alex. Alternativensplicing of downstream exons is also observed, which results inndifferent forms of the stimulatory G-protein alpha subunit, a keynelement of the classical signal transduction pathway linkingnreceptor-ligand interactions with the activation of adenylylncyclase and a variety of cellular reponses. Multiple transcriptnvariants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.nMutations in this gene result in pseudohypoparathyroidism type 1a,npseudohypoparathyroidism type 1b, Albright hereditarynosteodystrophy, pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism, McCune-Albrightnsyndrome, progressive osseus heteroplasia, polyostotic fibrousndysplasia of bone, and some pituitary tumors.

免疫原: This GNAS antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 217-244 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human GNAS.

保存建议: Store at 4˚C for three months and -20˚C, stable for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
