- This gene belongs to the subfamily of ubiquitouslynexpressed heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs). ThenhnRNPs are RNA binding proteins and they complex with heterogeneousnnuclear RNA (hnRNA). These proteins are associated with pre-mRNAsnin the nucleus and appear to influence pre-mRNA processing andnother aspects of mRNA metabolism and transport. While all of thenhnRNPs are present in the nucleus, some seem to shuttle between thennucleus and the cytoplasm. The hnRNP proteins have distinct nucleicnacid binding properties. The protein encoded by this gene has threenrepeats of quasi-RRM domains that bind to RNAs. This protein alsonconstitutes a monomer of the N-acetylglucosamine-specific receptornwhich is postulated to trigger selective recycling of immaturenGlcNAc-bearing thyroglobulin molecules. Multiple alternativelynspliced transcript variants are known for this gene but only twontranscripts has been isolated.

- Store at 4˚C for three months and -20˚C, stable for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
