背景资料: L-glutamate is the major excitatory neurotransmitter innthe central nervous system and activates both ionotropic andnmetabotropic glutamate receptors. Glutamatergic neurotransmissionnis involved in most aspects of normal brain function and can benperturbed in many neuropathologic conditions. The metabotropicnglutamate receptors are a family of G protein-coupled receptors,nthat have been divided into 3 groups on the basis of sequencenhomology, putative signal transduction mechanisms, andnpharmacologic properties. Group I includes GRM1 and GRM5 and thesenreceptors have been shown to activate phospholipase C. Group IInincludes GRM2 and GRM3 while Group III includes GRM4, GRM6, GRM7nand GRM8. Group II and III receptors are linked to the inhibitionnof the cyclic AMP cascade but differ in their agonistnselectivities. The canonical alpha isoform of the metabotropicnglutamate receptor 1 gene is a disulfide-linked homodimer whosenactivity is mediated by a G-protein-couplednphosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Alternativensplicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinctnisoforms; some of which may have distinct functions. [provided bynRefSeq].

免疫原: This GRM1 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 1095-1123 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human GRM1.

保存建议: Store at 4˚C for three months and -20˚C, stable for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
