背景资料: Elastases form a subfamily of serine proteases thatnhydrolyze many proteins in addition to elastin. Humans have sixnelastase genes which encode the structurally similar proteins. Thenproduct of this gene hydrolyzes proteins within specializednneutrophil lysosomes, called azurophil granules, as well asnproteins of the extracellular matrix following the protein'snrelease from activated neutrophils. The enzyme may play a role inndegenerative and inflammatory diseases by its proteolysis ofncollagen-IV and elastin of the extracellular matrix. This proteinndegrades the outer membrane protein A (OmpA) of E. coli as well asnthe virulence factors of such bacteria as Shigella, Salmonella andnYersinia. Mutations in this gene are associated with cyclicnneutropenia and severe congenital neutropenia (SCN). This gene isnclustered with other serine protease gene family members,nazurocidin 1 and proteinase 3 genes, at chromosome 19pter. All 3ngenes are expressed coordinately and their protein products arenpackaged together into azurophil granules during neutrophilndifferentiation.

免疫原: This Neutrophil elastase antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 13-39 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human Neutrophil elastase.

保存建议: Store at 4˚C for three months and -20˚C, stable for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
