背景资料: Initiation of transcription by RNA polymerase II requiresnthe activities of more than 70 polypeptides. The protein thatncoordinates these activities is the basal transcription factornTFIID, which binds to the core promoter to position the polymerasenproperly, serves as the scaffold for assembly of the remainder ofnthe transcription complex, and acts as a channel for regulatorynsignals. TFIID is composed of the TATA-binding protein (TBP) and angroup of evolutionarily conserved proteins known as TBP-associatednfactors or TAFs. TAFs may participate in basal transcription, servenas coactivators, function in promoter recognition or modify generalntranscription factors (GTFs) to facilitate complex assembly andntranscription initiation. This gene encodes the largest subunit ofnTFIID. This subunit binds to core promoter sequences encompassingnthe transcription start site. It also binds to activators and otherntranscriptional regulators, and these interactions affect the ratenof transcription initiation. This subunit contains two independentnprotein kinase domains at the N and C-terminals, but also possessesnacetyltransferase activity and can act as anubiquitin-activating/conjugating enzyme. This gene is part of ancomplex transcriptional unit (TAF1/DYT3), wherein some productsnshare exons with TAF1 as well as additional exonsndownstream.

免疫原: This TAF1 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 1863-1893 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human TAF1.

保存建议: Store at 4˚C for three months and -20˚C, stable for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
