- CXCR7 encodes a member of the G-protein couplednreceptor family. Although this protein was earlier thought to be anreceptor for vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), it is nownconsidered to be an orphan receptor, in that its endogenous ligandnhas not been identified.
