GLC8 is a regulatory subunit of protein phosphatase 1 （Glc7p）. GLC8 plays a role in glycogen metabolism and chromosome segregation， and regulates Glc7p activity through conformational alteration； ortholog of the mammalian protein phosphatase inhibitor 2. Under regular conditions， GLC8 triggers GLC7， but when GLC8 is over epxressed， it inhibits Glc7p function. GLC8 is activated upon phosphoylation by Pho85p complexed with four cyclins （Pcl6p， Pcl7p， Pcl8p， or Pcl10p）.

Sterile Filtered colorless solution. The protein solution contains 20mM Tris-HCl pH-8， 1mM DTT， and 10% glycerol， and 1mM EDTA.

GLC8 although stable 4℃ for 4 weeks， should be stored desiccated below -18℃.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein （0.1% HSA or BSA）.
Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
