This gene encodes a member of the C-type lectinnsuperfamily. The encoded protein is a secreted sulfatednglycoprotein and functions as a growth factor for primitivenhematopoietic progenitor cells. An alternative splice variant hasnbeen described but its biological nature has not been determined.
