This gene encodes a member of the membrane-boundnO-acyltransferases family of integral membrane proteins that havenacyltransferase activity. The encoded protein is anlysophosphatidylinositol acyltransferase that has specificity fornarachidonoyl-CoA as an acyl donor. This protein is involved in thenreacylation of phospholipids as part of the phospholipid remodelingnpathway known as the Land cycle. Alternative splicing results innmultiple transcript variants.
