It is locatednin the nucleus and functions as a DNA-binding transcriptionalnrepressor that interacts with activated SMADs. Mutations in thisngene are associated with Hirschsprung disease/Mowat-Wilsonnsyndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been foundnfor this gene.
