The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the smallnGTPase superfamily, Rab family. It may be involved in small GTPasenmediated signal transduction and intracellular proteinntransportation. Alternative splicing occurs at this locus and twontranscript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
