The protein encoded by this gene interacts withnmicrotubules and is functionally associated with beta-amyloidnprecursor protein transport and/or processing. The beta-amyloidnprecursor protein is a cell surface protein with signal-transducingnproperties, and it is thought to play a role in the pathogenesis ofnAlzheimer's disease. This gene has been found to be highlynexpressed in breast cancer. Multiple polyadenylation sites havenbeen found for this gene.
