This gene encodes a transmembrane protein that is locatednin the endoplasmic reticulum and is involved in GPI-anchornbiosynthesis. The glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor is anglycolipid found on many blood cells and serves to anchor proteinsnto the cell surface. This gene is thought to encode a member of anfamily of dolichol-phosphate-mannose (Dol-P-Man) dependentnmannosyltransferases.
