This gene product is a member of a family ofnmembrane-associated proteins termed MAGUKs (membrane-associatednguanylate kinase homologs). MAGUKs interact with the cytoskeletonnand regulate cell proliferation, signaling pathways, andnintracellular junctions. This protein contains a conservednsequence, called the SH3 (src homology 3) motif, found in severalnother proteins that associate with the cytoskeleton and arensuspected to play important roles in signal transduction.nAlternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified. Onentranscript variant is experimentally supported, but it doesn'tnencode a protein.
