Cholinephosphotransferase catalyses the final step in thensynthesis of phosphatidylcholine by the transfer of phosphocholinenfrom CDP-choline to diacylglycerol. The synthesis ofnphosphatidylethanolamine by ethanolaminephosphotransferase occursnusing an analogous reaction. This gene codes for ancholine/ethanolaminephosphotransferase. The protein can synthesizeneither choline- or ethanolamine- containing phospholipids. Twonalternatively spliced transcripts encoding the same isoform havenbeen identified.
