Complex II of the respiratory chain, which isnspecifically involved in the oxidation of succinate, carriesnelectrons from FADH to CoQ. The complex is composed of fournnuclear-encoded subunits and is localized in the mitochondrialninner membrane. The subunit D protein is one of two integralnmembrane proteins anchoring the complex to the matrix side of thenmembrane. Mutations in SDHD have been linked to hereditarynparaganglioma.
