This gene encodes a zinc finger protein containing fivenC2H2-type zinc finger domains, one or two Kruppel-associated box An(KRAB A) domains, and a leucine-rich domain. The encoded proteinnhas been suggested to be a transcriptional repressor. It localizesnpredominantly to the nucleolus. Alternatively spliced transcriptnvariants encoding different isoforms exist. These variants utilizenalternative polyadenylation signals.
