The function of this gene product is unknown; however,nhomology to other proteins suggests that it may be an integralnmembrane transporter. Mutations in this gene have been associatednwith megalencephalic leukoencephalopathy with subcortical cysts, annautosomal recessive neurological disorder. Alternatively splicedntranscript variants encoding different isoforms have beennidentified.
