Myosin is a hexameric ATPase cellular motor protein. It isncomposed of two heavy chains, two nonphosphorylatable alkali lightnchains, and two phosphorylatable regulatory light chains. This genenencodes a myosin alkali light chain expressed in both slow-twitchnskeletal muscle and in nonmuscle tissue.
