This gene encodes a member of a subfamily ofnnon-clustered, diverged, antennapedia-like homeobox-containingngenes. The encoded protein may play a role in the regulation ofnvertebrate limb myogenesis. Mutations in the related mouse proteinnmay be associated with craniofacial and/or skeletal abnormalities,nin addition to neurovascular dysfunction observed in Alzheimer'sndisease.
