This gene product belongs to the neurexin family, membersnof which function in the vertebrate nervous system as cell adhesionnmolecules and receptors. This protein, like other neurexinnproteins, contains epidermal growth factor repeats and laminin Gndomains. In addition, it includes an F5/8 type C domain,ndiscoidin/neuropilin- and fibrinogen-like domains, andnthrombospondin N-terminal-like domains. Alternative splicingnresults in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
