The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the family ofnP-type cation transport ATPases. This magnesium-dependent enzymencatalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the transport of thencalcium. Defects in this gene cause Hailey-Hailey disease, annautosomal dominant disorder. Alternatively spliced transcriptnvariants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
