PKD2L1 is a member of the polycystin proteinnfamily. The encoded protein contains multiple transmembranendomains, and cytoplasmic N- and C-termini. The protein may be annintegral membrane protein involved in cell-cell/matrixninteractions. This protein functions as a calcium-regulatednnonselective cation channel. Alternative splice variants have beenndescribed but their full length sequences have not been determined.
