GAB3 is a member of the GRB2-associated bindingnprotein gene family. These proteins are scaffolding/dockingnproteins that are involved in several growth factor and cytokinensignaling pathways, and they contain a pleckstrin homology domain,nand bind SHP2 tyrosine phosphatase and GRB2 adapter protein. Thenprotein encoded by this gene facilitates macrophagendifferentiation. Two transcript variants encoding differentnisoforms have been found for this gene.
