MKKS is a protein with sequence similarity tonthe chaperonin family. The encoded protein may have a role innprotein processing in limb, cardiac and reproductive systemndevelopment. Mutations in this gene have been observed in patientsnwith Bardet-Biedl syndrome type 6 and McKusick-Kaufman syndrome.nTwo transcript variants encoding the same protein have beennidentified for this gene.
