The protein encoded by this gene is similar in sequence tonthe amino terminus of Drosophila enhancer of split groucho, anprotein involved in neurogenesis during embryonic development. Thenencoded protein, which belongs to the groucho/TLE family ofnproteins, can function as a homooligomer or as a heteroologimernwith other family members to dominantly repress the expression ofnother family member genes.
