This gene encodes a member of the patatin-like family ofnphospholipases. The encoded enzyme has both triacylglycerol lipasenand transacylase activities and may be involved in adipocytentriglyceride homeostasis. Alternate splicing results in multiplentranscript variants. A pseudogene of this gene is found onnchromosome Y.
