Translin polypeptides form a multimericnstructure that is responsible for its DNA-binding activity.nRecombination-associated motifs and translin-binding sites arenpresent at recombination hotspots and may serve as indicators ofnbreakpoints in genes which are fused by translocations. Thesenbinding activities may play a crucial role in chromosomalntranslocation in lymphoid neoplasms.
