Cofilin is a widely distributed intracellularnactin-modulating protein that binds and depolymerizes filamentousnF-actin and inhibits the polymerization of monomeric G-actin in anpH-dependent manner. It is involved in the translocation ofnactin-cofilin complex from cytoplasm to nucleus.
