This gene encodes a WD repeat protein, which interactsnwith Cockayne syndrome type B (CSB) protein and with p44 protein, ansubunit of the RNA polymerase II transcription factor IIH.nMutations in this gene have been identified in patients withnhereditary disease Cockayne syndrome (CS). CS cells are abnormallynsensitive to ultraviolet radiation and are defective in the repairnof transcriptionally active genes.
