The protein belongsnto the L15P family of ribosomal proteins. It is located in thencytoplasm. Variable expression of this gene in colorectal cancersncompared to adjacent normal tissues has been observed, although noncorrelation between the level of expression and the severity of thendisease has been found. As is typical for genes encoding ribosomalnproteins, multiple processed pseudogenes derived from this gene arendispersed through the genome.
