CNGC2 is a protein with Ca2+ influx channel activity and is expressed in the leaf areas surrounding the free endings of minor veins. It could be the key step mediating bulk Ca2+ influx into leaf cells after unloading from the vascular and have no direct roles in the leaf development and HR.
