AGO4 is a member of a class of PAZ/PIWI domain containing proteins involved in siRNA mediated gene silencing. Binding of AGO4 and other RNA binding proteins, such as SPT5L and IDN2, is then important for binding and activity of enzymes, which establish repressive chromatin modifications.
