Store at -20°C or lower. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles. Upon reconstitution it should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Solutions are most stable at pH 6.5, as a pH >7 will greatly reduce thrombin activity. Since thrombin solutions adsorb to glass, it is recommended to aliquot the solutions in plastic tubes and store at –20 °C for long-term storage.
