Human interleukin family 1,member 6 (hIL-1F6 / FIL1-epsilon) belongs to the interleukin 1 cytokine family. IL1F6 is expressed in the immune system and the fetal brain, but not in other tissues tested or in multiple hematopoietic cell lines. IL1F6 is the only IL-1 family member found to be expressed on T-cells. IL1F6 functions via receptor complex of IL-1Rrp2 and IL-1RAcP. The recombinant IL1F6,along with IL1F8 and IL1F9,acts as an agonist by activating the pathway involving NF?B and MAPK in an IL-1Rrp2 dependent manner.
