Inhibition of the PARP catalytic domain of the tankyrases is known to inhibit the Wnt pathway via increased stabilization of Axin. Wnt pathway plays important role in cancer, tissue homeostasis; germline mutations of various Wnt pathway components as Axin can lead to oncogenesis.
