Lq2 was originally isolated from Leiurus quinquestriatus hebraeus scorpion venom. nLq2 blocks Kir1.1 K+ inward rectifier channels (Ki of 410 nM). nIn the planar lipid bilayer, it also blocked single KCa channels from rat muscle with intrinsic KD of 43 nM,1 by introducing brief closures. Lq2 action is on the extracellular side of the pore.
