Tumor protein 73 (TP73) or p73 is closely related to tumor suppressor proteins p53. It is involved in cell cycle regulation and cellular differentiation. The p73 gene is located on chromosome region (1p36. 2-3) and is commonly deleted in various human tumors. Like p53，p73 is known to induce cell cycle arrest and apoptosis and is highly expressed in human cancers like breast and ovarian tumors
