Atrogin-1 （Atr1） is also known as Muscle Atrophy F-box （MAFbx）. It is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that initiates ATPdependent ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis and promotes muscle atrophy. MAFbx is approximately a 43kDa protein.
