Insulin is a peptide hormone produced by beta cells in the pancreas. It regulates the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats by promoting the absorption of glucose from the blood to skeletal muscles and fat tissue and by causing fat to be stored rather than used for energy. Sample Type:Serum and plasmaIntended Use:The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for the in vitro quantitative measurement of Insulin in human serum, plasma; and other biological fluids not being tested.Sensitivity:<1uIU/mlRange:1.87-120uIU/mlSpecificity:This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human InsulinPrecision:Intra CV<10%; Inter CV <15%Test Principle:This assay employs the fast quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for insulin has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards, samples and human insulin mix are pipetted into the wells and any insulin present is bound by the immobilized antibody. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of insulin bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.Kit Components:Assay plate (12x8 coated Microwells)-1Standard-2x10uLHuman Insulin Mix-4x9uLAssay diluent (5x concentrate)-1x15mLWash buffer (20x concentrate)-1x25mL TMB substrate-1x12mLStop solution-1x8mLAdhensive strip-2Instruction manual-1Storage and Stability:Store powder at 4°C liquid at -20°C.
