ACADL belongs to the acyl-CoA dehydrogenase family，which is a family of mitochondrial flavoenzymes. This protein is involved in fatty acid and branched chain amino acid metabolism. ACADL catalyzes the initial step of mitochondria beta-oxidation of straight-chain fatty acid.
