- The rat IL-1 alpha BioAssay ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of rat IL-1 alpha.Sample Type:Serum, plasma and cell culture supernatantsIntended Use:For use in quantitative protein detection, establishing normal range and validation of antibody array results.Sensitivity:The minimum detectable dose of IL-1 alpha is typically <15pg/ml.Range:15-8000pg/mlSpecificity:Recognizes rat IL-1 alpha. This ELISA kit shows no cross-reactivity with the following cytokines tested: rat CINC-2, CINC-3, CNTF, Fractalkine, IL-1b, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, GM-CSF, IFN-g, Leptin, Lix, MCP-1, MIP-3a, b-NGF, TIMP-1, TNF-a.Test Principle:This BioAssay employs an antibody specific for IL-1 alpha coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and IL-1 alpha present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-rat IL-1 alpha antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-1 alpha bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450nm. Store other components at 4°C. Stable for at least 6 months For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
